The Tea Tax debates and the Boston Tea Party are some of the most well-known events in American history. But what would it have looked like to be there?

2008 Art Contest Winner Nensi Gjata’s A Fiery Debate

Old South Meeting House and Salada Tea^® are pleased to announce the second annual contest exploring the Boston Tea Party.

Students in grades 3-5 are asked to recreate an image from that fateful night—the fiery debate in the hall of Old South, the march of the Mohawks down to the harbor, or the dumping of the tea at Griffin’s Wharf. We will accept any artistic media and encourage creativity. However, the artwork must express your student’s clear understanding of the historic events and their significance.

This is a wonderful opportunity for your students’ artwork to be displayed in the historic hall of Old South Meeting House. The winning student and their family will also win a number of great prizes, including tickets to the 236^th Anniversary Boston Tea Party Annual Reenactment.

Your student’s school also wins! The 1^st prize-winning student’s class will win a one-hour “Tea is Brewing” program for their class. And, their school will receive a generous prize of black, green, and white teas from Salada Tea^®, the Official Tea of the 236^th Anniversary Boston Tea Party Annual Reenactment.
